Jordan Whitley is a Tāmaki Makaurau-based sound editor and dedicated member of the Screen Music & Sound Guild of New Zealand (SMSG). His interdisciplinary craft spans recording, designing, and editing sound effects, dialogue, and foley. Forging immersive soundscapes for film and television.

Currently positioned at Department of Post as a sound editor for upcoming broadcast and theatrical projects.   Previously, he served as a lead sound editor for Warner Bros. International Television Productions for three years. His extensive credits include acclaimed long-form unscripted shows such as Escaping Utopia, Celebrity Treasure Island, The Great Kiwi Bake Off, and David Lomas Investigates. He also contributed as a field recordist for productions such as Rupauls Drag Race Down Under.

Jordan’s journey from the field to the dub stage has equipped him with a deep understanding of production dynamics, project timeline management, and collaborative teamwork across projects of varying scales. With a Bachelor of Recording Arts underpinning his studious approach, he ensures the highest fidelity and artistry in his work.

Recently, Jordan has showcased his skills in short films that have been screened at domestic festivals and the Auckland Art Gallery Toi O Tāmaki.    Actively seeking collaboration with filmmakers and artists alike to elevate their creative vision.

The commitment to his craft in both leading and supporting roles echoes his dedication to the world of storytelling, the art of sound design, and the importance of deep-rooted personal connections.  Jordan continues to evolve and challenge his work, poised to make lasting contributions to the industry.
